Manga doesn't make much sense

Decided to read this because of the rising popularity, but I gotta be honest, the manga doesn't make much sense to me. Seems like it's jumping from place to place or something. Is it skipping scenes or something? Will it make more sense if I read the novel?

definitely. I read the first few chapters in the manhua, saw the excessive use of translator's notes and the advice to go novel, and never regretted my decision. the manhua had to adapt a rather complex world + all characters + every event in a very limited space/format, while the novel holds your hand through it and makes the journey fun 'n comfortable, with the same amount of excitement. 11/10 would recommend

The same group that is translating this is also translating the novel. First...the novel is just awesome!!! The author of this is just...like...I have no words to describe how much I love this work of theirs and how thankful I am to be reading it! This group EXR is doing a Fantastic job on translating it and it is Most Definitely worth reading! You should honestly start reading it, and second the animation has been Beautifully done! Just beautiful!!! It's just so wonderfully made and it's nice to be able to put a face to each of the characters, so you should really check both of them out!
Sorry for the long answer but I really hope you enjoy this as much as I am! Take care!

Its not jumping. But admittedly, its much more confusing than the novel and donghua. You see, manhua isn't the original work. Novel is. Donghua changes some plot and timeline but its art and quality "dedication" makes up for it.
Admittedly, you cant see the real charm of mdzs in the manhua. You cant join the fandom like this. Start from the animation. Then read novel or vice versa. Or simultaneously do them both. Audio drama is also amazing. THEN read the manhua.
Tbh I read the manhua only because i am interested in mdzs. I am curious how the artist draws them and executes such heavily detailed and emotional scenes.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I'll be reading the novel, and checking out the animation. Then jumping back to this. :D
