As an artist myself, this person's style and character designs are anything but messy. They're consistent and unique and it is pretty hard to have a consistent unique set of characters without altering them a little. XD
Just so you know, I'm saying this as an artist myself, too.
I mean, of course, no matter what it's always going to be up to preference. To me, however, it just feels like they're trying too hard to make them look unique.
I have no idea what's going on. Cain is neither likeable, interesting or good looking. His design is really messy, and the same goes for his buddy.
What's most annoying though is that, forget as to why they are doing something, WHAT are they even doing in the first place? There's just nothing to grasp at here. Sure, it's just 4 chapters in and you don't have to know the motive behind major actions, but this is just all over the place. The mc is confused as hell, and the same goes for me.
