using your example the only way that could be seen as mental abuse is if he fed into DG's crush from the beginning and manipulated him which he didn't infact finding out about said crush is what led him to breaking it off, plus the whole drunk mess. And I'll admit Alex using sex as a way to maintain a relationship is shitty but his reasoning is understandable given his mindset, instead of coming to terms of what he feels, he thinks continuing to be in denial and deluding himself into thinking he just wants sex because he swore off relationships after his previous one. What Alex is doing is dumb but it isnt abusive it all comes down to communication. He needs to sit down and figure his shit out and then talk to DG
