I did a quick google search and the manga is actually been completed with 13 volumes!!
OMG thank you !!! I was so confused. The end of volume 8 like did a 180 turn with the story the last few pages.
13 volumes in Japan, 8 volumes in the. US due to huddling the first 10 into 5 volume big volumes.
Guy I bought volume 8, and the author wrote a note saying that it is the final volume and they won't be going to continue the manga. The author has health issues and can't continue it anymore. So basically the next chapter after the current one
