The author choose to depict an extremist view of the religion (lots of muslim women don't wear head scarves) and a country which is more known for it's human rights abuse than the cute food differences shown. Islam doesn't equal the middle east. The author could have shown a woman in Japan who is muslim, who doesn't dress any differently to the other character and who eats conbini ready meals rather than this perceived 'othering" and not addressing that the character not having equal rights isn't a cute cultural difference, but something that women and men in her own country disagree with but they don't have the democratic voice to change anything.

i already said on another manhua called "dictatorship" but there is a huge difference between Islam and the people who believe it, most sexism is deeply and rooted in religion and tradition religion did take a big part of the men that are dominating and the to still be pure until marriage but the tradition did the most contribution there was never ever something in the Quran to encourage slavery and abuse and killing their children and its haram even if its a fetus woman is valuable but in the there just child making way which is what most people think but their value in the sense that there kinda their vessels of god to birth to children some people at the time worshiped because there basically connecting god to earth (which is why people taught it was painful because mortals can't handle gods power cX) wich is why woman are extremely respected

What hinders women in Middle East isn’t a religious barrier rather the “men are in control” mindset, it is long before Islam that Arabs used to bury their own female children because they were afraid of shame. It has nothing to do with the religion itself, tho the religion has certain image. The mistake no the huge mistake is to mix up a conservative society tradition with a conservative religion rules. Ppl need to let go of tradition because it is suffocating. If we only followed what Islam says as believers trust me, all this bullshit would end and we would be a ducking more open minded society

From my point of view, equity in Islam made women far more deserving than men, as basically the women are treated like queens and men in fact are the ones who work for them...like earning the living and so on... although women have every right to work and earn their own living.... Islam said that men should provide everything a woman needs (of curse if he is the one in charge) and not make her need anything and also work day and night to provide for her and she has the right to work too but that is according to her prefernace.... yeah like a queen
