Unfortunately in the US most relationships after High School don't last. In other countries there is more of a chance of it working than here. Sad isn't it.
Sad but true. I 'm American, too, so I know that to be true. People mature, and so do their feelings and outlook in life. More often than not, they outgrow their youthful romance.
In my place, 2 of my classmates got married with each other.... high school sweethearts.
Also, my high school headmaster married my classmate too, they got together not long after she graduated. (We are in our 30s this year btw.)
I married my high school sweetheart and his brother married his. We all knew each other back then and each of us couples had a break where we dated others. Guess we all met too soon lol, but it worked out in the end. We're 15 and 16 years into our marriages now. Aiming for life lol.

Ikr. We even managed to have 2 sets of twins. Boys 1st, then girls.
I'm really happy when main couple actually get married, and have family.... I'm always not sure when main characters get together in high school, and that's the ending. I've seen so many couples, in my high school, like one of my best friends and her boyfriend who had been together most of their high school life, then in college, I saw the boyfriend being lovey dovey with another girl... I heard they broke up when the guy cheated in college..... I know of at least high school couples who broke up in college.. and it 's always the guy who initiates the break-up because they've met someone else.... it's sad.
