Sad but true. I 'm American, too, so I know that to be true. People mature, and so do their feelings and outlook in life. More often than not, they outgrow their youthful romance.

I'm really happy when main couple actually get married, and have family.... I'm always not sure when main characters get together in high school, and that's the ending. I've seen so many couples, in my high school, like one of my best friends and her boyfriend who had been together most of their high school life, then in college, I saw the boyfriend being lovey dovey with another girl... I heard they broke up when the guy cheated in college..... I know of at least high school couples who broke up in college.. and it 's always the guy who initiates the break-up because they've met someone else.... it's sad.
