1. Flirt back
2. Talk about another guy with him. Anyone would do - your guy best friend, your dream guy, your fav actor/singer. See how he would react to that. Some guy would fall for this trick if you know how to play them well.
3. Ask directly. This one is partially recommended bcoz you might be rejected and embarrassed yourself for one sidely thinking that.

Hello, I'm hoping I can get some opinions from people regarding my bestie's dilemma.
These days, she's been talking to one of our guy friend frquently. They seem to have started this around August. She says that he's been subtly flirting with her at time and saying cheesy stuff that couples would normally say. He's also been hinting about a kinda future possibility of being a couple, and he used to talk about his family and their history. So, my bestie's dilemma is that, what if he was just joking around with the flirting and cheesy stuffs, and that talk about his family history was just something random, without any thought or deep meanings, because she's scared she'll fall one sidedly while the other person just meant that as a joke.
