True, a rape tag could mean a variety of things. But, if it was a rape that happened in a character's past-- it would probably have the #traumaticpast #childtrauma or something like that. Idk. It simply gets annoying when there's a whole bunch of peeps whining about a manga series. True, he did rape him. And apologized. And most manga I have read from this author is smut and rape-y for the most part. So, like I said before- go read Irony Dress or Yamete Kudasai or Suki de Gomen. All of those are cute. None have rape. 2 are shounen-ai. Ba-bye.
I absolutely agree with the “fiction is fiction” thing, it’s up there with the “don’t like, don’t read” line. Ppl shouldn’t be made to feel bad about themselves coz of what they read. I’m pretty sure there a few, if any, trained psychologist or therapist on here but even they couldn’t give a psych evaluation for name on a screen so others should just butt out.
But the misconception that “you don’t react (get hard, get wet) during a rape.” Is very false. You can, not all the time but it happens. The reaction is due the body’s physical response to touch. That line of thinking is why a lot of rapes don’t get reported or charged, the victim feels ashamed for “enjoying it” (they don’t, just a physical reaction, can’t emphasise that enough) and/or someone telling them that it wasn’t rape if they reacted like that.
It’s probably the only thing that annoys me in some yaoi when the Seme tells the uke that because they got hard, they are enjoying it and the uke just giving in coz he thinks he should.
But hey, that’s a trope and again FICTION.

Hmm i dont think rapes arent reported not because "they feel ashamed" of "enjoying it. I know someome who experienced this before, she dis not say it to her family because it was one of her family members, and because she doesnt want to ruin their family's reputation and she might end up the talk of the town(sorry my english is bad), and this country where we live in, they always blame the victims.

I pointed out to someone here once who was going on about “all yoai involves rape, it’s disgusting.” That if the (usually) Seme stops at “no” there will be no story. Who wants to read about the main couple not becoming a couple and parting ways in the first chapter. Like I said, when they can show proof they’re qualified to do a psych evaluation for screen accounts then I’ll hear them out, i won’t agree with them coz I study that stuff (never went further with it so I’m not qualified either) and I can guarantee no professional will say reading this stuff, fiction or not would mean or into incest, rape, murder, etc. unless you are already in that mind set and fantasising about doing it in real life. It drives me nuts when ppl blame video games, movies and the like for their kids “going violent” or “committing crimes”. It’s basically saying they can’t think for themselves and will have lame excuses to fall back on. Sorry to hear about ur friend, I live in Australia too and know some people who’ve been in similar situations. It is horrible and scary even as an outside party. A friend of mine was raped when she was nine and over two decades later the same guy was still doing that shit and was being charged, her name got tossed in the mix so all those memories are front and centre again.
She had a choice, take her case to court and relive that horror and the guy might get jail time or don’t and while the guy won’t go to jail, he’ll never be near kids again. While it’ll be good for him to get what he deserves (we all know what happens to pedifiles in prison) I think as long as he can’t hurt anymore kids it’ll be ok to spare my friend that pain.
But that kinda proves the point, this stuff (rape, murder, etc) happens in our actual lives be it personally or someone we know and we can still treat it as the horrible act and that the offender is a piece of human filth while still read fictional stories about that same thing and think “goddamn that Seme is hot”. It won’t change our way of thinking, they’re just stories.
