I think the author saw him as too much of a threat to their designed plot so they put him on sleeping pills for the rest of the story ╮(￣▽￣)╭
i swear he's like a total different character now

Rereading that scene on the park bench totally makes no sense now though...

i knooow~ i'd love some consistency too, now things are falling into place way too easily and it feels less realistic in contrast to the previous development of the story, and less entertaining :(
