First, rape is not normal and is not a common part in Yaoi but in porn in general. Second, this is about human trafficking, so what did you expect?

what yaoi have you been reading then? genre is dominated by sexual violence literally takes more effort to list 20 stories without some sort of coercion, blackmail, stockholm syndrome, sexual assault, or out right rape than it is name one including the aforementioned tropes.It's become the standard for almost every story to utilize this.And i'm talking about yaoi not shounen ai. As for your follow up about human trafficking you are completely right it comes with the territory I'd more surprised if the story didn't include this. It's rather the romanticization that we know will occur using slavery, rape, and stockholm syndrome as childhood friends reunited to find "true love" bs. Who rapes their best friend fully knowing who they are and the circumstances that has forced them to be there and then later justifies it as "I've always loved you" you must see I couldn't control myself and just you buy you're freedom and set you free like a sane minded person would do, but hey the story would end just like that if we did.

I get the point that it is being romanticized a lot by yaoi manga's but a lot of people are into this kind of genres. It is not necessarily to be a bad thing in Manga's because it is fiction and all yaoi manga's are r-18 so it's safe to say that people can distinguish what rape is. Nobody said it was normal, and nobody said it was okay, it's just that there are people who likes this kind of set up in a manga and I think it is our duty to accept people's kinks whether it is normal or not and it is our duty to distinguish what is right or wrong, so as long as everybody is mature enough, then it's okay for me and besides the story is quite good, It's intriguing. :D

Yeah, rape is a part of porn in general, so it is not a problem within Yaoi itself. I've read/saw enough Hentai to know that XD
There are many Mangas with rape scenarios, mainly around a woman being raped. "Yaoi" the label used for anything between two guys that goes more into the physical - may it be sex, bdsm or even rape. Rape between two guys is of course labeled as Yaoi, but that doesn't mean that only Yaoi has a problem with rape.
And about that naming of 20 series with and without rape. I could do the same with any other non-Yaoi genre besides Comedy or Shoujo. That doesn't say anything about it.

Exactly my thoughts. Majority of the yaoi i have read had similar themes. This one was just one too many for me.

this is one of my complaints too. finding one with no rape, black mail ,coercion, or Stockholm syndrome is so freaking hard. my list with none of these is so fucking short.
we walked away from it for a short while in a pile of releases, but then they seemed to fall back again in recent years.
