That would just ruin the story.The ending was beautiful.Ash got exactly what he deserved.He was loved.He felt happy.
Ash has been murdering people since he was 8 years old.He turned into a monster.There is no way he could ever change himself and his life.
Somebody would be after him no matter what.He was a wanted criminal.People would recognize him and out of fear of being reported he would just continue killing people.Even innocent ones.
Ash is an antihero protagonist after all.Keep that in mind.
I do agree with you on that but if we look at it in an anime type of situation then i don't think that this ending would be best.
Here's why:
Ones the anime will be fully out, people will talk about it but if the ending is "bad" many people won't even bother getting into it. And i think that a light harted ending would be so beautifull to such a dark story.
Also i don't think that they would ever come to change it but still i do wish for something a bit more "bitter sweet" than that.
And i do agree with your point but at the same time i would find it more interesting if it would get a different ending.
