Exactly. Even when someone was raped, there's always people saying 'She/he probably wanted it anyway.' which is just disgusting. Not many people who hv been assaulted or raped know what it is actually happening cuz I have gone through it. When I was being assaulted, my mind was blank. You don't really think through what is happening then and you just feel disgusted with your body. My situation was pretty small but I suffered for a week. Can't imagine what he's going through
I couldn't say it better myself. Even if he isn't aware that is was rape, that doesn't change how disgusted and mad at himself he probably is. Rape shouldn't be taken lightly and victims should NEVER be judged. I'm sorry you had to go through that, I really hope you are doing okay now. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to send me a message, I might not be of much help, but at least you can have someone to rant to.
I didn't mean that is was aware it was rape, despite that he was drunk, unable to give consent, and when he realized what had happened, he started feeling like his boyfriend would be disgusted by him, which is something rape victims tend to feel. Whether he realizes it or not, he shouldn't be judged for not telling his boyfriend right away, that's what I meant.
I can't believe some of you are literally giving this character "hate" for not explicitly saying he got raped.
Rape victims almost always feel like they're at fault, therefore this is not easy to tell at all. Some victims see themselves as unclean, disgusting etc. It has nothing to do with trusting his boyfriend or not, this is a trauma, it's not lack of trust. He SHOULD talk and he SHOULD report it, but it's very hard to so and he SHOULDN'T be judged for not being ready.
Judging a rape victim like this is one of the reasons victims tend to hide it.
