There are. Suppositories are used for illness (especially mild ones like fever) pretty commonly. It's more common to see them used for pets but the medicine will activate just as quickly that way

I was given one in my ass when I was a child for my bowel but you don't really have to stick your finger in XD. Suppository is a faster way to feel better than just swallowing medicine.

I just read about those and you really need to stick your finger in so it won't slip out... but maybe with a surgical gloves or something

It isn't really that common where I live especially against fever we have a lot of alternatives to fever decreasing pills that suppositories are usually only used if you REALLY can't swallow anything not even fluids or for kids that refuses to take them, however when it comes to kids it is actually recommended not to use fever decreasing medicine unless you really have to and in most cases parents would seek out a doctor before giving them medicine, usually kids having fevers isn't dangerous and it goes away quickly and if it doesn't it is recommended you seek a doctor rather than giving them fever decreasing medicine because that usually means they are actually sick and might need medicine like antibiotic or other treatment. Fever decreasing medicine doesn't help you get well quicker it just decreases the fever so you don't feel as bad, in other words it is not a treatment.
