Yep they're the same person. The archer competition was just the first time Wen Ning and Wei Wuxian met & became friends. Wen Ning died because of ..... reasons, and became a fierce corpse. He's basically a zombie but with his own mind & will, and now serves Wei Wuixan. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

there is one thing that i don't understand in the anime so far (up til 9th episode) the ghost general wen ning that wei wuxian summons back in the mountain is having the same name as the archery boy he met up in wen mountain, back when wei wuxian still alive, is it coincidence ? what if that boy is the same one as the ghost, can anyone tell me, sankyou before ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
