You just have to wait until a week, the pain will ware off by itself.. There's an over the counter pain reliver for that, i forgot the name(just ask the pharmacist)

I had the same thing, I couldn't eat anything because of the pain, it does get better very quickly though, it shouldn't last for more than 5 days. Just take painkillers regularly, and anti inflammatories like ibuprofen, and for me, avoiding biting or chewing with my front teeth was a lot less painful. It'll get better I promise! The first time you get them done is always the worst

So I just ate soup for two months and I got thinner, that's it.

The only solution i can think of is cutting food into small pices and use your back teeth next or wait for food to melt. And don't worry it usually hurts only for the first week and 1/2 days after each appointment. Good luck c':
Ps. Where are u come from? Cuz i don't think that people will write about braces at 2:30 AM.

I have braces, and after tightening I usually eat porridge or mash potatoes, or the gravy/potatoes at KFC

Try clove oil for the pain ... the clerk at an Indian market told me this trick, mix the oil half and half with olive oil and apply the mix to your gums, it tastes terrible, but works really well (I had a toothache on a long weekend and had to wait to see a dentist ... this numbs the pain and is an anti-inflammatory)

Had same problem and I couldn't really eat anything for the first month, then after each tightening visit I would not eat for one to two days and it really sucked.

But after six months of suffering I have finally removed it last week and gotta say that the result was worth the pain I went through.
Used to be so conscious about smiling while showing my teeth now looking for a way to smile while showing them without looking like a creep lol.
What I'm trying to say, there is no medicine for that, you just have to endure.
I thought I would lose a lot of weight but I didn't lol so I guess I did eat more than I thought so I'm sure you won't starve to death.
Also, fun fact, the pain won't end by removing the braces, now I have to put tightener on them every night so they won't move back for a whole year! And because I don't sleep much lately because of my uni exams, when I put it after I skip a day, they hurt way more than my first visit so despite not sleeping for two days straight I couldn't fall asleep because of the pain in my teeth!! ... So just getting used to the pain is our only choice...

Man, I feel like I just told a tragedy...

i've had braces before and you'll just hafta suck it up for a few more days. it'll get better over time. plus, eating less might help you lose weight so i guess in a way the pain helps lol

It’s gonna be better. Think about the result afterward. My friend can finally lose her long time over weight, kill 2 birds with one stone. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
