Something Underlooked!

Earlier in the story it was revealed that Skyler was diagnosed with ADHD. As a kid, he was taking medication and it was showing that he was making progress as a child, right? To my knowledge of the present events, he hasn't been on medication or received therapy during high school. Combined with a neglectful and abusive mother, it can still be a strong possibility that he still has ADHD.

A common symptom of ADHD is the inability to regulate emotions and also the effect of more intense emotions. From Skyler's anger when he thought that Yeonduk was using him to get money from his mother could be why Skyler was so deeply rooted with spitefulness against Yeonduk. After all, he thought that Yeonduk was the only person who truly cared for him as a person his entire life, so him thinking that Yeonduk didn't actually care about him must have felt like the worst feeling in the world to him. This doesn't justify his actions towards Yeonduk following the beginning of the story, but gives an explanation to why he acts like that.

Now to the latest chapters, we see Skyler basically obsessed with Yeonduk. Back to my last paragraph, people with ADHD commonly have a problem regulating their emotions. They also have a tendency to either be completely distracted or be completely hyper-focused on something. Skyler not being attentive at school and dropping fencing can be explained by this. It's obvious that his life does revolve around Yeonduk, however. He's basically the one who gave him all his precious memories and all his bad ones too (not intentional but still did). He's in such a clingy state where he wants to be with Yeonduk all the time and even Yeonduk is surprised by it. Now, it could be that it isn't based solely on ADHD and he may just be like a kid when it comes to his emotions, but if the author chooses to actually be working with his disorder, then maybe the story will turn again and focus on his mental health and state of mind.

I just hate when people hate on Skyler. Even though he did cruel things to Yeonduk, he's trying to repent for all of his actions to get on Yeonduk's good side again. He's changed dramatically and so many people just toss it aside even though he agrees how bad he's treated his friend almost every chapter!
And comments saying that Skyler is too clingy is bad too! Yeonduk may not know how important he is to Skyler; only we know how much impact Yeonduk has had in his life. Yeonduk himself tends to avoid talk about how he feels, so he can't tell Skyler directly about how he feels. He's still confused about his feelings towards Skyler too. He doesn't know if he still likes Skyler in a romantic way or not. All of this leads to a weird part in the story where Skyler becomes extremely clingy and Yeonduk tries to avoid him (even by telling him that he got a girlfriend lol, Skyler would think that he likes Noel more instead so it makes sense that he knew he was lying).

Idk if the author wants to play with Skyler's disorder, then it'd be good in explaining how he's been acting this entire story. Mental health and ADHD is seriously not something that should be overlooked so easily. Even if the author doesn't continue with that, Skyler's lack of motivation, his terrible parents, and childhood actually make him extremely sympathetic and redeeming as a character. So please love him, okay? ┗( T﹏T )┛

Thank you. People really don't understand ADHD and ADD characters/people. Thank you for clearing that up. (*^ω^*)
