I think you're right. Because some victims of kidnappings do change their names. Or at least when the kidnapper knows how they are.

It think it has to do with the brother. The brother doesn’t seem all there and it’s obvious the one that was kidnapped was the VP, so I think they changed the name to deal with that crazyness.
