Sometimes, portraying the other side of the extreme to the other party helps them realize how incredibly null their side sounds :) I very blatantly said

Meaning any fire sent about the "insulting" which was just me saying that full lips are more desired in third world countries and about applying a liquid lip was to parallel the exact same comments of Meili's "donut lips". Further, with the above quote, I ALREADY realized and acknowledged I was attempting to do the same thing, but with a point. Ob-fucking-viously all lips are fine but in the vast majority of manga, lips are not depicted how they are in real life, they already have a stance, there is no "putting down" of them. It's when a more diverse or unique trait (in real life obviously not but in manga for sure) is insulted over and over, it's degrading, to both the other and anyone who shares those traits. You don't respond tactically to degradation, you are supposed to show the other side why they sound ridiculous- which is exactly what happened. A real "put down" is when an author attempts diversity in their art and thousands of manga readers attack it, when in the real world, those traits are realistic af.
I don't know where tf you live, but when I saw them, I didn't even bat an eyelash...so many people have plush full lips, it's a desired fucking trait in all first world goddamn countries, we spent fucking thousands on that ish.
