I actually like An Baichu

I don’t really remember why exactly though. I just feel that a lot of what he does is misinterpreted and he always believes that what he’s investing himself in will all be for the best in the end. Even if it’s wrong in our eyes. It was how he was brought up. I don’t feel it’s his fault and I’m sure he will stand up for himself and Lu Lang soon enough. I actually feel that he is more worthy of Lu Lang than pink hair. I guess I will find out eventually.

honestly I read Lu Lang and An Baichu's relationship for Frankenstein. Dr. Frankenstein believed that he was doing the world a service by resurrecting life fully ending the cycle of death. In the end not only did he create a monstrosity but he condemned his own creation because he himself could not understand his own work nor provide what it truly desired, love. Essentially if you're unwilling to love and care what you've created you're the monster for forcing upon another entity the hardships of living and depriving them of the peaceful conclusion of death. Sometimes the dead and are meant to stay dead, with all the hardships Lu Lang is currently facing as zombie, I doubt he's grateful to An Baichu from taking away the autonomy of his own death. That's mainly the reason I could never like An Baichu what gives you the right to play GOD? Even all of Gods own children don't love him equally should we go the religious route, it's the point of having the ability to choose. Why does Lu Lang have to later then fall in love with the very person who for all we know is the root of every problem he has faced and will face. After all its implied that Lu Lang was the successful experiment among an array of other numbered studies, who's to say An Baichu and his father haven't tested and discarded others like Lu Lang in the past? For An Baichu to fall in love with Lu Lang would be a interesting twist to the Frankenstein tale, but it's Lu Lang choice to reciprocate. Personally I'd tell him to fuck off, but that's just me.

In a realistic sense. I would probably say the same to an Baichu however I do see your point but as I don’t know the story beyond this point I can’t really state any facts. I’m just hoping that an Baichu is misunderstood when it comes to the majority of the ones at fault. I believe it most likely might be his fathers fault. He also doesn’t seem to care and love an Baichu as a normal father would he’s only interested in results. I get that there’s a limit to where ones wrong doings can be forgiven though. I honestly don’t believe that if you’ve been through hell because of one person, that you shouldn’t feel obligated to be romantically involved with them. Honestly, I’m just interested in reading more. XD

My whole issue with the whole falling in love with someone who’s harmed you falls into the Stockholm syndrome play that is often used in BL where the abused begins to sympathaize with their abuser and later romantically involved. It’s so standard for this genre it’s probably taught as mangaka 101 course. You could be completely correct in An Baichu not having as much as a role as we think, however he’s fictional so I won’t give him too much blame, had he been real that’s not nearly adequate an excuse. a person always has the ability to choose their actions even when limited or apparently forced that’s the wonder of being human. To make a conscious effort to take action for or against or do nothing at all, whichever is still a choice made. An Baichu deciding to aide his father create a zombie out of a high school boy who may or may not have died due to circumstances surrounding An Baichu is knowledge we do not have but as Lu Lang has even pointed out just this chapter An Baichu clearly thinks with a mindset of what can benefit me with the concerns of others coming second. Maybe this a trait he’s picked up from his father or maybe a survival mechinism of his own creation. For that he’s definitely not trustworthy let alone romance material. He’s shown that his sincerity is questionable at the best of times and when it is “present” it’s in order to subdue Lu Lang in some way. I get that we will learn more about him and why the two may fall for each other, I just can’t find myself liking him despite his complexities

I also find romances of this nature forced because they come across as equal. An Baichu holds most of the cards as he knows Lu Langs history, and access to whatever potential cure. The inequal power dynamic of this nature doesn’t come across as sexy especially when An Baichu has barely humanized Lu Lang up till now and seen as nothing more than a thing or object at best.

I see what you mean. I honestly wouldn’t support a relationship like that but if what I think is going to happen is right. An Baichu may also be a victim of his fathers success. I definitely don’t see lu Lang and An Baichu as equals. I feel that An Baichu envies Lu Lang in many ways and will eventually do his best to protect him. Maybe try to make amends for what’s happened to Lu Lang on his behalf. I feel that he’s cautious of Lu Lang but he’s beginning to see something other than just a test subject. But I also feel that he is burdened by Lu Lang’s past relationship with pink hair. Maybe it was an unrequited love but it still doesn’t excuse An Baichu for taking advantage of his power over Lu Lang yet I feel that’s the only way he could get Lu Lang to talk to him even if he had to hate him. Honestly a stupid excuse though. I would be against a relationship as toxic as that but I also believe in seeing the full picture.
