Lezhin only has the publishing rights for a series. They don't own the characters or anything like that. The artist could write a spin-off with a different story but the same characters (the Window to Window author wanted to do it and it was possible, she just hasn't done it yet because there were problems with the new publisher). However, they cannot continue the exact same story under a different tile as long as Lezhin still has the exclusive publishing rights.
It's pretty much the same as when a streaming service like Netflix licenses a movie or series for exclusive streaming. They don't own the series/movie itself and they don't own the license forever but until it expires it can't be sold to any other streaming service.
3 years, it is a really long time to pick up a story again......what a pity
Because it has never been translated. It's only available in Korean.

I bought it in Korean, to support the artist. Hope they got that money!
I would imagine that Warehouse is under contract for a set period of time, but maybe the copyright extends to any characters too? Meaning the author couldn't just continue the series as a sequel under a completely different name until the original contract has ceased. I'm a bit ignorant to this whole drama, but it seems a bit of a pickle, and it must be frustrating if the artists want to continue their series but can't, because they are in limbo over a dispute concering working conditions.
