I'm old so I may have forgotten, but doesn't neuropsychology involve psychology? (and no, I'm not being sarcastic or anything, just honestly asking).
Neuropsychology is the study of the physical brain and how it affects behavior, whereas psychology only really studies behavior. A neuropsychologist would focus more on the brain as an organ and how treating its structure can affect its function, whereas psychology only deals with function.

Mine says in the beginning this is out of his specialty. But he continues anyway because of his own interest in Yuki. He himself understands trauma so is able to help piece together what happens.
