gintama isnt really underrated, but slam dunk is probably the best sport anime

Shigofumi. Shiki. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is amazing. Highly recommend Gugure Kokkuri-san. Kotoura-san. Kara no Kyoukai. Monster. It's fun for a foodie like me, but I love both seasons of Yumeiro Patissiere. Anything by Satoshi Kon. Killing Stalking is really amazing.

Gingama is anything but underrated. Since this anime uses lots of references to other anime/pop culture stuff it might not be good choice for beginners or so I’ve been suggested.
