My friends always knew I wasn't totally straight. When I felt prepared, I just casually said it and they took it nicely. Honestly sometimes is worse the hassle we go trough in our thoughts about telling them than their actually reaction: don't torment yourself and just say it naturally, because there's nothing wrong about it. If they are your BFF, they will understand.
If (s)he is your best friend there is nothing to be afraid about BFFs are the best they understand you completely without judgement and I bet you she will except you!
