Just my two cents...

I get that scanlation groups don't want their translations spread around. And honestly, I would never have the time nor inclination to try to copy/download every manga. But the fight between scanlators and mangareader sites has been going on for internet eons. Even legal sites like Lezhin get their manga copypasta'd. I just don't understand why after all this time scanlators think people will actually adhere to the rules. The only scanlators I've ever seen win are the ones that are super obscure or are like AttractiveFascinante who simply culled their reader numbers drastically (and then died?). ( ̄∇ ̄")

That's true, but it doesn't hurt to try.
The reason scan groups do it tho is so that manga reading sites won't make money off of the scans, something that really shouldn't be made money off of, and if anything, cost the scanlators' own money to make.
It's like telling people not to murder — lots of people still do it, but does that mean we should stop telling people not to? ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
