This is exactly what happens to same sex couple in real life, they'll never get a child that is blood related to both of them, it'll always be just one or neither (if you adopt). I'm really waiting for the day that science can combine both DNA of people of the same sex, i mean there are so many fucking beautiful gay/lesbian couples that if they have a child together they will be like freaking greeks gods
