There was a huge argument over "drunk" uke/seme a while ago. Guess what, there were still MANY people, like split 50/50, arguing over if it is rape. If getting fucked drunk isn't rape to some people I doubt omegaverse rape will reach people's radar.

For me it all depends on circumstance and the intentions of the characters. The alpha can rape the omega, but the omega can also rape the alpha. Since rape is non-consensual sex whenever there's the estrus period and the omega doesn't want to have sex and neither does the alpha but they physically can't stop themselves because their bodies won't listen to their minds, is them raping each other honestly. But if the alpha wants it and doesn't mind losing control it's rape. There's this one novel i read (I believe its quickly wear the face of the devil) where one of the characters is an omega and in order to snag the alpha from his crush(another omega) he purposefully locked them both (the alpha and himself) inside a room and forced his heat to essentially rape the alpha (it didn't work in case you were curious because the alpha loved his omega too much for this one to have a strong effect pheromone-wise). So I honestly believe it depends on how the rape came about, if it was uncontrollable and neither wanted it, it would still be rape, but against each other unintentionally. But if the alpha disregards the omegas wishes its rape. But I don't find myself blaming either if neither could control nor truly wanted the situation to occur. But this happens rarely and omegaverse usually tend to be rape stories. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Except that drunk people are not forced to drink...they are a lot more responsible than cats in heat.
they do not drink with the intention of raping someone. if everyone raped everyone while drunk, it would become a crime to drink.
yes, i've read that novel. is a shame it completed so fast. but ik the omega can rape the alpha, so i intentionally didn't say anything about either gender. but when it is rape, it's rape. and i'm angry at the people trying to say a rape is not rape when it is.
I love yaoi and all but there is too much rape bullshit in this genre. I still read it though cause it's kinda unavoidable at this point but it's really annoying cause there are some really amazing stories out there that would be so much better if they just cut out the rape bits.

is it rape if both people are drunk., what do you do then
if the one getting penetrated is drunk, it's assumed to be in a state of unable to give consent, which means there is no consent prior to the action. silence does not equal yes. and even if they say yes, they're drunk and not in the right mind. it's a situation where it simply does not count. and if the other person is also drunk, I believe these are the situations where they just wake up the next morning and forget about it or run to the next base.

I agree with Arinna I'm disgusted by this constant rape in yaoi it always spoils my lecture. Not so long ago I read novel addicted / heroine and most of the novel was all beautiful, I fell in love with it and suddenly BUM rape. I was so disgusted and disappointed that I stopped reading, but this novel really made me happy without this rape it would be the best yaoi/book I ever read...

I think omegaverse stories are interesting but I prefer the ones without rape, I'm not interested in that fantasy BUT there are plenty of people who are into it and that is why such a high percentage of omegaverse depict rape. Not all Omegaverse Yaoi manga are like that, there's actually really cute ones.

That's why I don't read omegaverse yaoi mangas. I still would suggest the AU for fanfics, for example. Many are well-written for certain pairings of most fandoms are out on AO3. I found the concepts to be more romantic rather than the creepy rape-justification thing you're talking about in mangas. I mean, in general, most yaoi mangas are already cringey.

Do you guys understand how ridiculous you sound? Replace this with a drunk person, and let's see how it stands. When you're drunk, you obviously don't have control of yourself right? You can't control your will and you sometimes don't even remember what happened the past day. But, guess what? In the justice system, even if you're drunk, if you fuck somebody without their consent, it's RAPE. You will still get tried in court. There is no justification for rape, even in an omegaverse. Stop trying to sugar-coat it with all this pheromone nonsense.
