He's still a total dick AFTER the sad backstory... "he had a crush in highschool" was enough to make even just what we saw so far, let alone everything between high school and now, okay with you?

Ehh, previously it appeared as if he did it out of sheer malice and for sick thrills, now it seems more like he was lonely and just wanted to be noticed by someone but went about it the wrong way. He is right that it's not his fault he started reading his mind, he did nothing prior to that and what he's done since has technically helped according to the rules of the "curse" which is specifically designed to create sexual situations by the author. I still think he's a bit of an asshole, but nowhere near as bad as before.
I can agree that he's more aware of the consequences of his actions, though i can't say he's LESS of an asshole. He's just an asshole in a different way now. Instead of doing small things that irritate Jinwoo and being unlikable at all times, now he does much worse things and occasionally shows some semblance of remorse before deciding to do it all again. Basically, Sangtae's likeability seems to have been up'd to allow worse bullying without you hating him. I personally am not able to accept it, he has sexually assaulted and raped (he fingered him against his will, penetration) him now... I can't look at him and think "oh, he's getting better" while he continues to repeat the same mistakes. To me, it's clearly just that his likeability was up'd, not actual character development. Or at least not much. I'll say it's character development, it may lead to him changing, we'll see.
I foresee much highly warranted angry sex in this Yaoi's future. Also, dammit, sometimes I really hate how every manga makes every douchebag character somehow sympathetic every time and then I feel like a dick for thinking that they were just a dick even though they were definitely a total dick prior to the sad backstory explanation....
