So it's the people's fault, not the translators for falling into temptation. Got it
For some people manga/manwha or whatever you wanna call it is an escape for whatever harsh reality their dealing with telling them to not read it, well aren't you nice
According to the translator:
"I don’t keep any of my donations for myself actually. I convert all of them to coins on mrblue so that even if it did come down to it, I wouldn’t be able to use it on myself at that point even if I wanted to.
I in fact, do repeatedly support the author with the donation money. Mrblue has two options for purchasing: buying, and renting. Buying it is a one-time fee where you always have access to the chapters. Rental is slightly cheaper, and you have access to the chapter for 24-hours. I actually do choose the rental option, but only so that I can purchase them repeatedly and support the author as much as I can. From since I have begun translating until now, I have purchased each set of available chapters well over 20 times.
To your first question, why was I accepting donations in the first place? It was several months ago when I was doing really bad in terms of finances (I had to put down a deposit for college), and couldn’t regularly purchase and scanlate at the moment. I didn’t say that I would completely stop if I didn’t receive donations. Donations were an open option if people wanted to see their translations faster. I always intended to continue scanlating after my financial situation had recovered, which happened quickly since I took on more hours during my shift at work."
Not all translators ask for donations. Translators who ask for money always get backlash. Most ask for donations for an income. The good translators tell us not to give donations and to support a series instead. Which is basically all good series that have not been dropped. They get dropped if donations stop. All the good translators I know have completed a lot of series with good feed back. Check them out some time.
It still comes down to if they can or can't afford it. You're just adding layers of excuses at this point
Agree, I've posted my own translations here in the comment section previously, which meant I had to pay for the comics on Lezhin and take time to translate/post. I did it because I enjoyed the episode and wanted others to be able to understand and enjoy it too. It's the author who should be getting paid, translating is more of a goodwill thing, and if we can't afford to support the author, then it's a bit of an ethical dilemma asking for donations.
I know some of those types thing is though I'm also fully aware that at some point it comes crashing down thanks to the lack of money for buying whatever materials they need for translation. I mean if its a very little amount I couldn't care less but translators that ask for more? and work only if they get donations? Yeah that's where I back out and start suspecting. Those groups that do all of this without any money? I think their a godsend a bunch of awesome hard working ppl ☆
Well whatever even if they are excuses whether its here or out in reality everything revolves around money thats for sure and anything posted online will be spread eventually
Yeah, so now that the illegal source for people to use is gone, you cant read it anymore. That's reality for people who cant afford it. Can't afford, don't read.
There's that option and there's also another which involves someone else repeating this exact same situation till they get called out and probably end up driving the author mad
Anyone have ch17? Op translated But deleted, if you saved it can you shareヾ(☆▽☆)
Yeah that's the "illegal" source I've been mentioning. It's currently gone now and thats reality for people who cant afford it.
It's free on TappyToons. You get coins with ads and events there.
Free. On.TappyToons. Read the new post.
1000000% PERCH!
Now that people can afford it because it's "free" from ads, there should be no excuse for further fan translations and mangago.
Say it again for the people in the back.
It's very scumy to translate a series that's currently being translated in the language that your translating
I've gone through most of the comments on here and the supportive ones, thank you. The ones that hurt, well, whatever. I can't bother to change the minds of people who think that way while reading off of a pirating site.
Anyways, I've posted an official notice on my Tumblr, but I thought it would be good to notify people here as well; I will no longer be translating CBAW, and all chapters on my site will be taken down shortly. Long story short, I was contacted by TappyToon this morning, and I simply agreed with their conditions to stop (granted, their conditions were all ones that I were going to take myself if my one policy was broken).
I will no longer be translating it, so I encourage you guys to buy CBAW from two official sources from now on,
either the translations on TappyToon ( https://www.tappytoon.com/series/cherrybaw/1),
or from the Korean provider, mrblue ( http://www.mrblue.com/section_webtoon/detail.asp?pid=wt_blossom_wz).
