Actually I am confused as to how you came to that conclusion. That this was a forced plot twist anyway. I mean, I understand the plot twist and I also understand the amnesia (the fact that I don't understand anything else has no bearing on this issue, after all). The plot twist occurred because that was probably the age he was when he first became a dog god. He probably met Kiyoto at the same time. That's why Kiyoto found himself pushed towards the mountain at that precise time....
Okaaay! This is just an opinion so don't fight me.
I think the author wanted to have different elements to the story, it ended up in a cheesy mess. I'm a sucker for supernatural yaoi, and I was looking forward to read this one but it didn't live up to that expectation. And the ending where Shiro reverts back to a child, it seems like a forced plot twist, so ending could be interesting. It's probably to test out Kiyoto's patience, but it's quite unnecessary.
Shiro and Kiyoto are a cute couple tho, NGL.
