I think it was more that he felt he retained some control. If a certain sexual act reminds him of a past trauma, then he was able to avoid putting himself back in that situation again. At the end of the day Sangwoo was an abused child too, and we don't know the extent of the abuse, only how his behaviour is as an adult and the coping mechanisms he presents.
Him being abused doesn't excuse him being a murdering psycho? Killing people isn't a "coping mechanism"?
No one has said it was (I think), although it may help understand why he does it. It was in reference to a specific incident (the bathroom scene).
Bum's past abuse doesn't justify him murdering that woman who called him a frightened rabbit either.
