The author also has a previous series called Swallow? but it hasn't yet been translated (it's on the Korean lezhin). I thought the ending of Escape into oblivion was great. Whether the tablet was just a vitamin, or something more sinister wasn't the point, but the point was the shorter character would consume anything his partner gave him, the motivations for this are more the point than the actions of the taller one who is feeding him. Won't spoil anymore though.
