One thing. I think he always knew Kuze was a cop. They always recognized each other. It was a game once they reencountered each other.
Plus in the last chapter it seems Kuze was being stalked for a year? Lol

Idk about that, I think he only found out when Kuze was first staying at his place and that was which when, I thiiink, Shimojou found his badge that said "Lieutenant".. Or somethin' like that. @v@

i looovvvee this manga. it gives you something to think about. the author doesn't give away all the facts and just lets the story tell itself.
for those who didn't quite get what happened, here's what I think.
When Shimojou found out that Kuze was a cop, he deliberately left his room open so Kuze could get that file thing about the Yamamoto group(yakuza). This is because Shimojou knows that the Yamamoto group was partly to blame for the death of Kuze's dad. I'm thinking that SD card was also allowed by Shimojou because we all know that boy is smart as fuck. No way he'd be careless with his line of job, right? That's why when Kuze arrested the Yamamoto head, Shimojou congratulated him for his "revenge". I'm not sure at what point Kuze realized Shimojou was helping him, but it's the reason as to why he didn't arrest him (apart from love lol). And he knows Shimojou isn't that bad a guy even back when they were students. He mentioned that Shimojou doesn't really plan to reveal all those dirt he had on others and only eliminates the bad guys. So yeah, fast forward to another country. Shimojou probably escaped there to clear his tracks. I'm guessing he told Kuze where he is (because he said he was the one who contacted him). Then he told Kuze he was gonna return back to Japan even though it was dangerous because 1) he still found merit in it 2) the police would've found him anyway. BUT he did say he didn't want to do anymore bad stuff. So this time he planned to deliberately help the police in pursuing criminals. Kuze, of course, was against it because it was dangerous and he knew the yakuza would kill Shimojou if they found out and that the police wouldn't help him given his past job. Worried husband, yay~ Kuze would've gotten in trouble too, but his partner, who seemed like he knew what's up, let him and Shimojou off the hook. The fun thing about this is that the sadistic Shimojou didn't change as much; even giving false info to Kuze to see him beat up a little. I think the best part of this story is how they're the opposite of each other with Kuze having a bad family background ending up as a cop and Shimojou from an affluent family who became a criminal and how the two of them seem to drive each other. Shimojou may just have been the reason Kuze became a cop due to him saying "try to catch me". They didn't get that peaceful cohabiting fluffy couple ending, but the trash and sleazebag couple found their own love and happiness~
