Um I think you might need to go back and reread. He's not being manipulated by Seungwon or Jiyu. Jiyu doesn't know Heesu from ADAM and she STILL had reservations about what Seungwon wanted to do. She only went along with it because her FRIEND needed her help. PLUS Seungwon is not doing this 'for Heesu's good' since he's not even doing it for Heesu. He's doing it so he can figure out how to confess his feelings to Heesu. It's selfish, but that is the only thing possibly wrong with it yet unlike Chanyoung he himself admits it. T.

Now lets go down to the facts you said " Hes not being manipulated by Seungown or Jiyu" -> 1- Seungwon LIED and still is LIYING to the MC when he said his crush was Jiyu and he is only doing this in orther to get close to the MC (see? lying to someone in orther to get close to them for your own benefit this is manipulation) the poor MC even tries to help him to get close to Jiyu and gives advices like a FOOL (yeah when u manipulated someone u make a fool of them) because he doesnt know the truth. 2- Jiyu doenst know the MC nor is his friend (yeah I know that thats why I clearly said his new FRIEND'S FRIEND) but to manipulate someone you dont need to know them she is going along with her friend LIE in orther to help him wich means she is helping with all the manipulation having reservations or not doenst mean anything if you decide to do it anyways. The difference between Liying and Manipulating is simple : when you only Lie to someone your lie doesnt affect their actions nor behavior towards you nor any other thing at all but when you Manipulate someone you tell them a Lie that will affcet how they behave or how they act towards you or someone. And lets be honest neither of theses things are good tho what Seungwon is doind IS indeed manipulation since he is somehow changing his relationship with the MC by making him stick together to him because he "needs" Love advice to get close to Jiyu (wich is a lie). I see where you're coming from mainly from the best friend's perspective but I don't see how the new friend is manipulative at all. He just wants to get closer to the person he likes and spins a story about having an imaginary crush. I see it more as a white lie. With the way the author writes, maybe this could lead up to a confrontation that breaks down everything that's happened and I hope they can sort out the conflict.

I agree with you when you say White Lie I also belive that seungwon mean no harm to him even so if you just think about it that white lie is what changed their relationship completly they were only classmates after he lied to him they became friends and are getting closer and closer to one another. So yeah to me when you lie to someone in order to change how they behave towards you (from classmate ->>to friends) or to get something from them (in this case affection) it is manipulation cause your lie is somehow changing their actions. Its hard to see the manipulation in this case cause his not doing any harm to the MC so people tend to overlook it also because people assume that you can only manipulate someone to harm them wich is not true, manipultaion can also benefit people like when a mother maipulate her child by telling a lie for the child's sake. Anyways you free to disagree, to me he is manipulating him but not to harm him in anyway.
