I find it very sad too, cried a bit, but I looked at the text once again, and it said "I'll stay longer and leave shorter" meaning that each time they are apart and they come back again, the distance may be shortening.

They are, but they are more deep water creatures that's one of the reasons they don't do as well in captivity. None should be in captivity but yeah.
It's painful, but I think we all saw it coming. I like how the author shows how different things are between dolphins and killer whales. They don't do well in captivity at all. Well none do, but it's harder for them. Beom will come back, but it's going to be sad when they are apart.
