Sorry, but those affiliated with this scanlation group have been nothing but rude and abusive on this comment thread. Surely the aim of producing translations is to share them with people who will also enjoy the work, else why post them on a public platform which as it's the fucking internet, will mean it gets shared everywhere, just like lezhin comics are uploaded here. Sorry but trying to take the moral highground, when you are not "respecting" the actual author by producing and distributing unofficial translation and trying to get credit for this seems a bit rich. Maybe other members here are more used to interacting with scanlators and their drama, but personally I don't think your groups behaviour has been appropriate and if anything it's going to turn people off from wanting to read your scans whether they are on your tumblr, mangadex or here.
If you don't want your "hard work" to be shared, then you can set up a website where the scans are only viewable to members that have logged in, or just be old school and share them in an e-mail with your friends , and don't plaster your scan group and contact details on the first panels of the upload if you really are concerned with being traced, which is understandable but I think you are being a bit naive x
I've seen so many scanlation groups who are just like that. They are absolutely toxic people who seem to live off drama and the 'omg you so amazing' comments and their ego is just enormous.
They think the sun shines out of their ass because they know two languages and chose to put in the time to translate this.
All they want is to be worshiped and revered, we need to bow down to their feet because those amazing goddesses deigned it worthy enough to translate manga for us lowly mortals, we must sing their praises day and night! It's so immature.
Not all though, some scanlation groups are awesome and you can tell they are just kind and funny people, yeey for those people <3. But some groups can just ruin a manga just by the tone of their announcements or comments in the manga. Especially when they go 'Warning, this manga contains rape, if you can't handle that: stop being a bitch ass pussy and get the fuck off this site cause yaoi = rape'. Like, you know all of you have read warning pages like that, pisses me off, don't speak to people that way, rude assholes.
Who is forcing you to translate anyway, if you don't like it, just quit, aint nobody gonna care I promise you. Geez.
It does have a cost. It must be earned.
And people like you will never be able to earn it acting that way.
I do not use tumblr. so i dont' know if something mean was posted there by the translating team but would you like to enlighten me what did they do that disgusted you? .the fact that they asked this to take the manga down from this site or they did the translation illegaly ? Genuine questions i don't understand the dislike towrads the team
Omg preach it! That's exactly true what you say. They need to get off their high horse, just because those associated with the translation group helped translate it and then expect respect when they are fucking hypocrites who don't even respect the author and upload his or her work illegally. I for one don't read mangas online. I buy the official English or Japanese mangas. I only read from official source for ex : "webtoons app" and on the official Japanese and English website etc.
That's commendable. Personally I read Lezhin comics on Lezhin Korea/English and talk about them on here, and also look at the raws which are actually provided free at original sites like kuaikanmanhua. Most comics though haven't been officially translated, and it's great that people are willing to use their skills in order to share something that we should enjoy reading. Pretending though that this is going against the knowledge of the original author, is potentially making them use revenue etc is a bit naive though, even if most of us do appreciate reading scans provided for free on websites like this. I guess the point is, when it comes to unofficial scans, none of us can take the moral highground. We all enjoy them, but producing and reading them does have it concerns when it comes to the authors wishes, even if ultimately it helps get their works out to an international audience quickly. If anything this recent drama has made me reflect more on this, despite personally enjoying fan made translations as well as paying for webtoons on their official platform. Sorry for the ramble.
Thank you. I agree with you and the points you said. I think it hurts the author. Their work is being upload illegal and it has access to tons of people hence why the drama about this mahua happened. They upload it and it spread online and now are bitching at people in a rude way demanding it got taken down. It's hypocrite of them. I don't mind fan translation at all but if the translators are gonna be rude about it, they need to be called out for such behavior. Just because they translate, some translators are acting like they are better than people. They expect respect but then don't even respect people. They constantly have drama with each other too. Bato is the only good manga website with respectful people and translators. I haven't brought from Lezhin in a while because I heard about the problem how they don't pay the artists. I don't know if that got resolved. I won't buy from Lezhin until the artists/authors got paid. Sorry for ranting.
I'm utterly disgusted by how the scan group is behaving through all of this and I'm even more disappointed in people applauding this behavior.
