Same. I think it's because I just prefer the more wild misunderstood characters over the obvious goody types. Even in other fandoms I like the characters that tend to be hated a lot at first before they become popular. It's just more interesting for me when they make more mistakes and aren't so perfect and clean. When they have more obvious flaws and we get insight into why they have those flaws.

Maybe because we love all the bickering and tsundere types? Idk even know myself, I just love this type of couple that goes from hate to love and all the comedy we get from Old Xian
