Just saying......

As someone who bred and raised rabbits at one point, they are some of the biggest dicks. Rabbits eat their own young, each other, and sometimes other species if they are not seperated or kept on a strictly timed feeding schedule.
I'm not saying all rabbits do this, but it is common for rabbits to go after other animals as food. Everyone thinks they only eat plants, but like other large rodents, they eat meat too.
So reading this manga, I was not suprised at all by a rabbit eating another animal. At all.

The better answer is - the incidence of does eating their young is rare, and we don't know of any does that just up and eat their babies for no reason.
If she is in the process of kindling or if she has a young litter, and then gets frightened for her life, it is well documented that she might eat her babies, destroying any evidence that would attract predators or reduce her chance of survival.

I know! I raised rabbits when I was a child. The other male rabbits ate each other out. In the end, all that's left with other one was head. The the father ate his litters too when; forgot to separate him from the mother's cage.
