This is honestly why I stopped reading shoujo and started reading yaoi and yuri. I've read a lot of shit shoujos. Of course there's good ones, but usually the girl is so pathetic that I end up hating her when I should be relating to her! I would just read action, but I'm a helpless romantic and want to read fluff;;;
I've been trying to find romance anime, even, that I will fall in love with, but all the recent ones are garbage. Scum's Wish was absolute dogshit. *sigh* even American YA romance novels are shitty...
That's basically the reason why I only read yaois
U truly right.I hate when the girl is the one who confessed to boy first.And that boy is tsundere or doesn't know that he is in love with that girl or pretend like he is not in love with her even tho he is the one who got confess.Most of the shoujo that i read are girls are the one who confess first.I know there are alot of shoujos that boy confess first.But most of the shoujo that i'm seeing are girl confess first.

sometimes when i'm in the mood for something happy i'm reading some cliche shoujo :).
though i prefer yaoi/shounen ai i know some good, interesting shoujo that i like to re-read from time to time :)

Honestly getting sick of shoujos where the female lead is a naive girl who only cares about love, I mean obsessed with the guy to a point where they embarrass themselves! The worst part is the guy most of the times doesn't like the girl until waaaaaaaaaay later in the story. I know shoujo mc are created so we can relate to them, but do you people honestly feel like you can relate?
I honestly hate the way females are portrait in shoujo, I feel like these MC's have no life other than to live for the male lead.
Sorry about the rent, but as someone who read so many shoujos and coming across only a handful of unique ones, I just have to know how do you guys feel about how females are in shoujo mangas.
