The whole gay/homophobia thing brings a new aspect into it, imo. If they were a straight couple in that situation, it'd be like "lol. why are you agreeing?" But in this situation it's like "wow, you are really going out of your way to make it seem like you don't give a fuck about me romantically. Could've stayed silent, but I see you have hangups. okay. I got you."
And I cannot remember, but didn't JiHo tell him what happened with his ex? If so, he knows that is a sore spot.
I don't know how you identify. But as someone who likes the same sex, I can very much understand why JiHo and his female friend are upset.

Taking sensitivity to a whole new level. Now it would be different if Jiho was talking about his ex in Soohan's house saying there was nothing going on, and Soohan said "Oh but you guys looked good together.." like that would be mean and petty
