I think I’ve always interpreted it as an indulgence thing. They’re bad people, evil, and so they overindulge in sins (wrath, gluttony, lust etc.). They’re also throwaway characters just for the sake of plot so the author probably wants to make them unattractive in every sense. There can be antagonist/villains who are good looking but usually those are the ones that some people like and the author actually wants people to like
