You might enjoy the ova for Togainu no chi. It's not as deep as Ai no Kusabi, but it is on the darker sci-fi side of yaoi anime.

Hey there. Is there any yaoi manga similar to the Ai no Kusabi? It's a sci-fi, futuristic, love-hate, bdsm(ish), erotic but not pwp, tragic (can ignore this one), forbidden-romance, with a sexy, wild, manly, erotic uke and a dominant, cold, with god-like beauty & aura seme.
Just recently I watched Ai no Kusabi(2012) and honesty was SOOOO mesmerised. I was soooooosooosooo disappointed it ended abruptly just when I was getting addicted to its story. It felt like a drug being withdrawn from me finally when I got the taste.
So I watched the older version only to get again dissapointed that it was not like the novel (neither was the art so beautiful, erotic and pleasant which is OK since it was made in 90s) , which I also read whatever I could find online.
I am having conflicting thoughts : "Why didn't I watch it earlier?" and
"Why did I watch it at all!?"
