Well everyone makes mistakes in life, and there is no way of knowing if the person you think/believe you want to be with is the right person. If you believe you want to be with someone like "that" that's your decision and you still have the choice in wanting to be with them after you know what they are like. So you can't blame the stone for it's actions because it only acts out what you deserve.
