Take a footstool and chair with you to the bathroom and bath. Tell your nurse and doctor thay you need to take a bath.
Are you still hospitalized? Any decent nurse should be able and willing to wash your hai, you shouldn't even need to leave the bed.
The thing with casts is that you should completely avoid getting it wet. The cast itself will be fine but your skin will ROT. Just do whatever you must to keep your leg dry and you can wash the rest of your body. Use lukewarm water to shower: sweat and steam should be thoroughly avoided.
Hope you heal soon :* broken bones suck.
Aah! About keeping your leg up in the air: you should try to keep it raised above your heart (as a rule of thumb) to help the blood flow back and keep it from pooling. It helps with the swelling, especially in the first days after your accident. Since your muscles can't move, your blood flow gets slower and it needs a little help from gravity. If you keep your leg down for a few hours it might swell, the cast will strangle your leg and you can get into very serious problems. A few moments with your leg down to get from one place to another, change positions or shower are FINE. It's ok but it might hurt a little.
Orthopedic healing is my JAM. Feel free to ask anything your doctor didn't clarify, for any reason. Again, get better soon.
Thanks guys. I really appreciate it, but in the end I had my friend wash my hair in the sink and I wiped down with a washcloth. But I helps knowing some people care ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
