It's cute, funny and heartwarming. The characters are interesting and very mature, considering they're high schoolers. But this isn't a light read. The reader is forced to dwell on friendship, family, love, prejudice, bullying and even on suicide. The main focus here, in my opinion, isn't that Ma Ri is a vampire. It's about being different and how human beings can turn into monsters when they're faced with something they can't understand. Those last chapters were painful to read, but in some way they were also necessary so that all the characters could change and move forward together. Also, second lead syndrome hit me hard. Shi Hoo was an amazing character. I feel that his ending deserved more explanations.
