I think his dad died. The woman's husband the one driving the car. She was injured probably and that's how Namsoo got the fucked up from his "mom"
Actually I don’t want to say anything since I read the raws and know what happens but this is kind of spoiler if you don’t want to read it I understand.
Spoiler:
Namsoo mom some how died in the car accident leaving the now depressed father with namsoo.
Albeit the mother were some kind of pissing me off for the fact that she had separated a pair of twins, but she do loves namsoo and treating him well. (though her loves doesn't compare to hyeongoh's mother, hmmphh!) (￣へ ￣)
With her dying, it would just make namsoo's life go downhill.
Wait, she already died. And namsoo's life did went downhill.
