Same here. Thought someone was going to sneak up behind him and stab him. Would have liked for Gerard to have returned home with everyone there waiting for him. Still, glad it didn't turn tragic. (=・ω・=)

I was so worried something bad might happen to Gerard at the end while he was visiting his wife's grave...some bad twist of fate to kill him and not return to Jaques. (⊙…⊙ ) I was so relieved for the story to end and no unnecessary tragedy! Phew!!(〜￣△￣)〜 Loved the story.
