It was beautiful. Realistic in portrayal. And it had a bittersweet feel until they finally came together and decided to begin again. Both characters were quite emotionally cruel though to each other. Sawa loved Nana at a distance, never really opening himself up fully, to hide himself from the possible rejection. Especially, if he had confessed too early for them both to maturely handle the scope of their relationship. He viewed Nana from from afar and decided without giving Nana a choice how their relationship would end before it even began. Nana was young, and just a highschool student when they started their physical relationship. Nana didn't understand what kind of love or emotion was blossoming for his sensei. He just knew that if he could chose anybody to still come back to or be with intimately it would be Sawa. He was already on his way to beginning the journey to his dream and didn't really have time to understand what he wanted so he left his feelings unsaid and the situation unchanged. In his mind, while in England the only one he could rely on was Sawa, his security blanket, the one who got him to keep pushing forward towards his dream, the one he would rather see and sleep with over anyone else, the one who rushed over and showed up in front of his door all because he said he wanted to see him and needed help. Nana, still though, never expressed his true feelings. Thus making sensei believe this love was fruitless and would only cause more hurt. Just misunderstandings and miscommunication on both their parts. They let 12 years go by, never really forgetting each other. Just using others to fill the hole that was created in both of them. Nana had his goals to achieve and sawa wanted to move on, just forget, because remembering would cause longing and regret. Nana could never forget, always chasing sawa in his head even going to his apartment that sawa had abandoned at some point. When he finally returned to Japan, after 12 years, he became a mature man. One who had experienced life, and realized that even though he believed they were in love they never told one another. They both changed, though sawa still didn't want to be hurt he eventually opened himself to Nana, and they decided together that they could start over and get to know each other again. It's quite sad, yet at least they realize that there's no one else but the other that could satisfy them emotionally. I quite like this one. Even if it's a bit rushed. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
