From what I've gathered from this chapter and previous ones is that Hotaka clearly has low self esteem. He doesn't value himself and it's sad, that's why he's always thinking "this is not gonna last" or that he"ll go with the relationship because he believes it's nothing serious and can't say no to them, both Chika and Masato (He cares about his friends, after all). Now about the manga in general and the last chapter, I just have mixed feelings. I really like the manga because of how unique it is, (and realistic) and I also ship both pairings, leaning more towards Masato x Hotaka, because Chika is childish and selfish in some aspects, BUT, I do feel bad for him at the same time, because Hotaka was never honest with him, he just complied to whatever wishes he had, without ever voicing his true feelings and insecurities

I agree. Chika's the type of person who as a result probably of his parents always demanding too much from him, and neglecting him in turn, since he was a child, grew up to be the "needy" type who needs a strong lover that can put up with his bouts of "acting spoiled" (at least in the beginning of the relationship) in order to help him heal and mature. Poor guy wouldn't have had to suffer if Hotaka had more self-awareness.
