bless this post, really. thank u
Well said!! As someone who enjoys yaoi and yuri (and just manga in general?) I really dont get why the two genres need to be compared. You came here because it is a yuri. What does yaoi have to do with that besides it being homosexual as well? Please, just for once I would love if people gave yuri its own attention. c:
WELL SAID!! i like both yuri and yaoi, as well as shonen, seinen, shoujo and others. each genre is different. sure thing, some authors or titles are better and some are worst in all genre, but they all have their great points and i like them all.
To all of you "crazy yaoi fangirls":
This is the reason why I am often embarrassed to be in the same community. A lot of yaoi fangirls think they are so open-minded for Reading about to guys, but when it comes to yuri it's disgusting or doesn't turn you on etc? That is actually being very narrow-minded. It's okay not to like it, not everyone does, but please stop comparing everything to BL and degrading a genre. And no, not everyone who reads yuri is a lesbian or a male. I would actually say that a majority of yuri readers are female, and non-hentai yuri is often written by women. Personally I enjoy most genres, and find that yuri often has more depth than its male counterpart as the stories often are more romantic, less sexual, more realistic and probably what appeals to me the most, the couples are much more equal (not so much dominance and submission which is very off-putting for me.) In any case, what I am trying to say is, respect the genre and if you don't like it then stick to what you enjoy. For first time yuri-readers I would recommend something less explicit though.
