It’s YAOI... Rape happens... Deal with it.

Need I remind everyone that rape has been an intergalactic part of YAOI for the entirety of the genre? Thankfully the majority of series today have moved beyond the trope, but to bitch about it when it’s present is like complaining that in Yaoi, boys are kissing other boys! Oh the horror... personally, not a fan of the rapey stuff, but that doesn’t mean I should shame others for liking it in a FICTIONAL story. Hell next everyone will bitch about Shota stuff too. Just to clarify. In REALITY, both Shotacon and/or Rape is INEXCUSABLEAND WRONG. But in Manga, it’s ALL FAIR GAME.

    so true

Right? People should just get used to rape because it happens SO frequently. Why even bother complaining about it? Just be quiet and accept it as a normal part of life. </sarcasm>

Your </sarcasm> has apparently been lost on me. The acceptance of rape as a part of life is as wrong as accepting racism because it’s a part of life. However IF you meant accept it as a part of Yaoi, then I agree. But your ambiguity caused your intent to be lost on me. Clarify for me?

I literally said I was being sarcastic. My point is that people should complain about rape, even in fiction. The "just be quiet about it because it's a normal part of yaoi" argument is really flimsy as it's the same argument people used to(and still do to some extent) use to make light of real life rape.

Your ability to convey your intent with sarcasm might need some work, but non the less. Taking your Straw Man Argument and the “non-flimsy logic” it’s based off of would mean that no work of fiction could portray and real life issues or problems due to the potential of people using said fictiousus work in a way that MIGHT attempt diminish the impact of real life? That’s asinine and absurd on every level. Anyone attempting to use what happens in Yaoi, whether it be rape or any other trope, to justify the same actions in real life is an idiot. Yea IRL rape is wrong. On every level. But if the depiction of rape in fiction bothers you that much, maybe you should avoid the Yaoi, as you’re likely to continuously offended.

Nice try, but no. I've been a yaoi reader for years and years, and magically manage to find plenty of titles without rape. Glorifying rape and other negative things in various forms of media has a measurable effect on public opinions, so it is always worth examining. I don't think my statements were poorly constructed, but rather your reading comprehension skills are sub-par.

You must be correct. You find plenty of non rape titles but manage to still read through and bitch about this one. However I would bet you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who after reading through this manga, or others with rape, who will condone or believe rape is ok. But then again, you must be correct. Maybe you’ve a future as one of the new and growing demographic of people always offended by any and everything. A professional victim, or maybe not pro, but high level. Good luck with that.
